Here we are getting ready for Adobe Summit 2019. Has it been a year already? Woah, it is either that time is flying or my memory has aged significantly (I can always blame it on the baby). The tradition continues as we bring you a list of the top summit sessions that we recommend you attend so you make the best out of your Summit experience.

Although DMP’s haven’t been the center of attention or the biggest buzzword of 2019, Thank you CDP’s, Audience Manager product has evolved significantly. Here is a list of sessions that highlight the new features and uses of AAM:

1. S109 – Creating an Audience Center of Excellence

A favorite session of mine that I attend every year. Here is why you should attend this:

  • A lot of my clients struggle in maintaining and proving the value of a DMP once it is stood up and working. The real work, fun and results come then. In order to accomplish this, you need to establish the proper governance and process around the DMP and creating an audience centric center of excellence is the recipe for success
  • Nina Caruso (Product Marketing for AAM and stellar x-aam consultant) will co-present this topic with one of the biggest giants in retail, Kohl’s
  • Learn from other pioneers in the DMP space on how they overcome issues that you might be facing today

It is on Wednesday at 2 PM.

2. S102 – Experience Data Management Platform Is Here!

Last Summit, Data Science workspace was announced – this year we really see what is under the hood. Here are additional reasons to attend this session:

  • If you are infatuated with data science as I am, then this session is for you and will be presented be an Adobe Data Scientist
  • Learn about the use cases to use the data science workspace in your organization
  • Get first look into how machine learning can help in creating new audiences that you didn’t know about

It is on Thursday at 2:30 PM.

3. S103 – Privacy: Not a Trend But a Differentiator

Privacy is what on everyone’s mind, I mean after Facebook and GDPR how could you not be paranoid and worried about privacy? Here is why I will be attending this session:

  • Fatemeh Khatibloo made it her mission when it comes to privacy and data transparency. She is a principal analyst from Forrestor and judging from previous sessions that I saw her in, this one will be very insightful
  • Learn more about what to expect in the next phase after one year of GDPR and with California Consumer Privacy Act on the way
  • Many skip the privacy settings in AAM, they are actually very powerful and some are patented due to uniqueness. If you don’t use Data Exports in your organization today then you should sit in this and learn more about privacy controls within AAM

It is on Wednesday at 8:30 AM.

4. S108 – Telus’ Journey Transforming Customer Data into High-Value Audiences

I have heard great things about the success that Telus had with the Adobe stack and especially around Audience Manager, here is why I am recommending this session:

  • Nagendra Nukala, incredible multi-solution architect and an old colleague of mine will be presenting. You are guaranteed a detailed walkthrough of the solution that transformed Telus’ customer journey
  • DCS API’s – powerful but barely used. They will cover them in this session in relation to a real-world use case
  • This session goes beyond AAM’s capability but as well as the power of how AAM works well with other solutions

It is on Tuesday at 5:30 PM.

5. S107 – The DMP’s Engine: What You See Is Not Just What You Get

I couldn’t agree more with this title, there is an engine beneath the DMP and you get a lot more than what you see. Here is why I will be attending this session:

  • Andrew Gutierezz, senior x-aam consultant and AAM Product Manager will be presenting this session
  • Gain some insights into the future of AAM beyond what is visible in the UI
  • Learn how to enable your DMP to become a real-time streaming DMP

It is on Tuesday at 2:30 PM.
