Adobe Summit 2020 – Top Data Science sessions to attend
In the age of data, digital marketers are constantly searching for the optimal way to query, model, and analyze data in real-time. Adobe has been a leader in this space with constant innovations and quality of life improvements via their APIs, query services, new data science workspace, and a multitude of data integrations. Below I’ll detail some useful sessions to attend at Adobe Summit and why I’m excited for them. These sessions can help digital marketers to build a robust data workflow that allows data scientists and analysts alike to work efficiently and effectively, getting the most out of their Adobe services.
L782 – Experience Platform: Big Data Analysis and Reporting Using Query Service
SPEAKERS
Anshuman Nangia, Senior Product Manager, Adobe Saurabh Mahapatra, Principal Product Manager, Experience Platform, Adobe
Analyzing and querying your data in the world of big data is like searching for a needle in a giant haystack. Experience Platform Query Service provides easy access to all your data using a familiar SQL interface.
In this lab you will:
Why I am excited for this session:
Point and click GUI tools can often be unwieldy, creating a quick plot or even creating a new variable can mean navigating through a maze of drop-down menus. With so many marketing data platforms offering their own flavor of these GUI’s, familiarizing yourself with the intricacies and data limits of each one can be time-consuming. This session will detail how data scientists and analysts can quickly and robustly query powerful Experience Cloud data via the familiar and universal language that is SQL.
L723 – Explore the Adobe Analytics 2.0 APIs
SPEAKERS
Nathan Price, Senior Software Engineer, Adobe
Adobe Analytics APIs offer a multitude of ways to integrate your most important customer data into key business processes. The next-generation data query API is faster, more flexible, and more RESTful. In fact, it’s the same API used by Adobe engineers to power the popular Analysis Workspace interface.
Learn how to apply the new Analytics API to your own business needs and use cases by:
Why I am excited for this session:
We all love Analysis Workspace, I use it every single day in my work! Learning how to utilize the Adobe Analytics API’s can allow you to iterate over workspace parameters and schedule dynamic reports, all through your favorite programming language and familiar JSON request packages.
S629 – Adobe Experience Platform and the Experience Data Model Explained
SPEAKERS
Anurag Dodeja, Group Product Manager, Experience Platform, Adobe Sal Daoud, Group Product Manager, Experience Platform, Adobe
Data is the core ingredient for digital experiences and Adobe Experience Platform Real-time Customer Profile. Experience Platform uses the Experience Data Model (XDM) to represent consumer-interaction data with attributes, identity information, segment membership, and consumer behavioral data. XDM describes the structure of data flowing in the Experience Platform, allowing customers to standardize their own data models across the organization.
In this session, learn how:
Why I am excited for this session:
Analysts and Data Scientists often say that wrangling data is 90% of our daily work. While the fun complex modeling and analysis can end up being only 10%. Having a comprehensive understanding of the Core Data Model (XDM) that experience cloud utilizes on the back end can help to speed up and reduce the lift required for this data wrangling work. Freeing up your time to add value via insightful modeling and analysis.
L783 – Experience Platform: Predict the Future with Data Science Workspace
SPEAKERS
Ashok Poothiyot, Product Manager, Adobe Saptho Nair, Principal Scientist, Adobe
What secrets does your data hold that you’re still not aware of? Learn about the power of Experience Platform Data Science Workspace. Dive into the workflows of Data Science Workspace and Intelligent Service to unlock insights in your data by developing your own machine-learning model.
All lab workbooks will be provided digitally. Information on how to view and print the workbooks will be provided in the weeks before Summit.
Why I am excited for this session:
As I said before, I am an avid user of Analysis Workspace. Given how seamless and integrated Analysis Workspace is, I’m excited to learn more about the Data Science workspace. Data Science workspace allows users to implement standard methods such as linear regression, classification, and clustering. This workspace also allows users to engineer features, train models, and create “services” to be used in building experiences. It even has integration with Jupyter Notebooks!
S610 – Incorporating Adobe Experience Platform into Your Enterprise Architecture
SPEAKERS
Klaasjan Tukker, Director Product Management, Adobe Experience Platform, Adobe Eric Knee, Sr. Platform Engineering Solution Architect, Adobe
Adobe Experience Platform is built to integrate into your enterprise stack. Learn about the integration options and how Experience Platform can help you realize real-time customer experiences while being an important citizen in your enterprise stack. Using Experience Platform APIs, you can bring consumer data into Experience Platform in real-time and in batch. You can use the Real-time Customer Profile inside your enterprise applications to understand the behavior of customers across channels.

Why I am excited for this session:
In today’s world where data rules the multitude of sources and query methodologies can be overwhelming. In my day to day work, stakeholders are often concerned with integrating multiple sources of data into one tool, helping to solve for that single source of truth that digital marketers are constantly searching for. This session will detail how implementations of this sort can be achieved, discussing the use case for the Adobe Analytics API’s and presenting case studies on successful data architectures used today.
