In part II of the discussions around DMPs and CDPs, Jerry invited a pioneer in the space, Fernando Alfaro from TELUS, to fully unpack this complicated topic. Here are a few takeaways from the webinar that we wanted to share with you:
Main Highlights:
Take full advantage of the power of the DMP: Whether using API’s to ingest more customer data in a real-time fashion or utilizing profile merge to stitch profiles cross devices. There are many ways to supercharge your DMP before giving up on it.
When you build something, you become IT. It is important to know what you are getting yourself into when you build your own vs buying off the shelf. Make sure you plan for maintaining, evolving and monitoring the products you build.
Invest in your people and in enabling them. Fernando talked about the JADE program where they are able to take fresh college grads through it and come out as data analysts or developers.
It is a top-down movement that needs to be led. For successful adoption of technology, leadership needs to be fully on board and lead by example.
People and Process are essential for any technology to succeed. We will be going over a 3-step process in our webinar next week, to help broker the peace between two conflicting departments and make them work cohesively and effectively together! From the buy-in process, to rising to the challenge and into the halls of change, this webinar will tackle the cultural shift your organization will need to embrace for optimal success.
