Intro to Series: Testing and Optimization Unraveled
First and foremost, although a/b testing is gaining momentum as a pillared necessity for many organizations, the operational structure can still remain clouded. Many might find themselves in this situation: Marketing and technology leadership understand the opportunity in site testing/personalization but are unsure how to properly begin.
In this series my goal is to provide clarity to these questions:
- What is Testing and Optimization?
- What are the best resources to stay up to date
- How do you select the right tool?
- Client Side vs Server Side Testing
- How do you prove ROI for buy in?
- What are the necessary resources needed? What is the best team structure?
- What is the best tool for project management?
- How do you properly govern tests/ provide visibility throughout your company?
- How do you report on program value?
- What kind of tech stack / ecosystem do I need for personalization?
- What is a “test and learn” culture?
- How do you scale your program?
- What is testing democratization?
So stayed tuned as I’ll kick off this series to focus on the basics, starting with: “What is Testing and Optimization?”
This topic will be split into 2 posts with the first focusing on the “ideology” of optimizing your website for continuous improvement for your customers. While the second post will focus on how to select the right testing platform for your organizations needs.
