Top 6 Adobe Summit Sessions for Digital Analytics Strategists
In this blog post, Kim and I share our different points of view on the top 3 sessions to attend at Adobe Summit this year if you are focused on Digital Analytics Strategy. But while we may have different POVs, both of us believe any of these sessions will give you hands-on actionable steps you can bring back to your organization. Sign up for these if you haven’t yet! Feel free to reach out as well as we will both be there in person and look forward to meeting new faces.
As an Adobe Summit in-person first-timer I am super-excited to attend this year in Las Vegas. I’m loving the hybrid format because when I was hearting sessions I came to the realization that so many of them are happening concurrently and I’m just one person. With this format I can later watch the videos of the sessions I wasn’t able to go to and have the best of both worlds. I carefully chose the in-person sessions based on how great of an impact they can make on how I work with clients. Here are my top 3:
Crawl, Walk, Run: A Step-by-Step Guide to CJA [L701]
I’m not quite at the crawl stage with Customer Journey Analytics but this session seems like it’ll be a great way to get acquainted with it. Nearly every company I’ve ever worked with wants some form of this, where they want to be able to show the best, most relevant offer to a customer based on every previous touchpoint. I’m really looking forward to learning the basics in a lab setting, then attending additional sessions to learn how it’s been applied in the real world.
Personalized Exp and Loyalty in Travel and Dining [S751]
Having worked with clients in the travel industry both pre- and post-pandemic, it’s been interesting watching travel come back in the past year. People are finally getting back out there to explore the world but there are 2 factors that can throw brand loyalty out the window – high prices and service issues. I have my favorites and it was a challenge sticking to them when traveling last summer as well as when making ongoing weekly takeout decisions. This seems the perfect next session to attend after CJA Crawl, Walk, Run so I can hear how real companies are solving real problems using CJA, as well as learn the future of loyalty and how it plays into getting a better understanding as to what products and services each customer needs.
Skill Exchange: Empower Your Team with Data Democratization [S191]
There’s nothing worse than having dashboards where the big open secret at the company is that no one trusts the data in those big, beautiful visualizations. Second to that is when you don’t know any of the definitions of the values in the reporting and no one else seems to know either. To avoid this, a lot of planning and work needs to be done by several smart people behind the scenes in order to properly collect, join, and document the setup of the data. I’m always looking for new and better ways to improve upon solution design documents and am looking forward to hearing great tips plus hopefully a lot of good sports analogies in this session.
Adobe has been trailblazing the path of Digital Analytics innovation for some time now, and Softcrylic has been alongside implementing many clients on its tech; most recently on Experience Platform. Personally, I’ve overseen 3 Web SDK projects and also led the creation of the Web SDK tutorial on Experience League. I’m excited for the possibilities but I’m more excited for the applications, so this year at Summit my top 3 sessions all involve Customer Journey Analytics and tips on how to best leverage these tools:
Analytics Madness: Tips & Tricks for Making the Final Four [S104], with Travis Sabin , Principal Product Manager, Adobe
It’s a rare opportunity to see a tool you’re in day and night through the eyes of one of its principal product managers. Travis Sabin is a legend; I see his replies in Experience League idea forums and know he takes client feedback seriously. What I’m excited about his session is:
Create, Publish, and Analyze Audiences in CJA [L705], with Rohit Gossain, Product Manager, Adobe
You can only do so much reading and learning about a new tech. Customer Journey Analytics is one of those that everyone seems to peripherally know about but very few have real hands-on experience – including myself! If you feel the same way, this Lab is a must. Rohit will lead the attendees through actionable steps in how to use Customer Journey Analytics features, alongside Real-Time CDP and Journey Optimizer. My tip for you, this lab is already full but they will still accept people if those who signed up are no-shows. Show up and wait a bit, you may get lucky! I’m excited most about:
Smarter Analytics: Extend CJA with Advanced Data Models [S118]
People who really know Analytics know that Digital Analytics and Advanced Analytics are not usual skillsets that one single person can do. In fact, at Softcrylic we are actually structed in two different practices with R and Python experts in our Data Science practice, and Adobe Analytics experts in our Digital Analytics practice. But the intersection of Advanced Analytics and Digital Analytics is something we often explore at Softcrylic. I’m very excited for this session because its at that intersection that we see tech investment value realization and strategic differences between organizations. I’m looking forward to:
