Adobe Summit has returned to in-person attendance this year after the last three years spent entirely online. I’d describe this year as a “hybrid model” but I think we’re all still working out exactly what a perfect hybrid conference should look like. For now the Keynotes, Sneaks, and “Super Sessions” will be streamed in real-time while most of the sessions will be recorded and made available “on demand post event”. So if I miss something and want to review it later I can but I get the opportunity to watch the content live before it’s online as a little bonus for leaving the comfort of my home office. Seems like a good balance to me. The sessions you’re most likely to find me at this year are…

3. T-Mobile Uses Edge Data to Reduce Cart Abandonment [S433]

A tale as old as time – user meets product, user adds to cart, but then they disappear. I’m excited about this session because it promises to bring together several factors; client-side data collection best practices, orchestration between a number of different adobe tools, and actually acting on the behavioral data we collect. We’ll get that all focused through the lens of a real-world success story. I’ll take examples of real-world applications over test data and theoretical use cases any day.

2. Case Study: Validating Large-Scale Technical Systems [S432]

There are few better feelings than being sure you’re right. But as the scale of the work we do increases, and the expected time between implementation and insight gets shorter, being able to check our work becomes even more challenging. That’s why I’m hoping to learn any tricks that Justin Webster from United health group has to share from their implementation of Adobe Experience platform. Hopefully after this session the next time I have two massive data sets that don’t agree I’ll be able to find out why in fewer moves.

1. Intro to CJA from the Lens of an Adobe Analytics Veteran [S105]

Learning new things is hard. But you know what’s even harder? Learning things you already think you know in completely new ways. After over 10 years in digital analytics it’s easy to get accustomed to things a certain way. But if we want to keep up with the newest technologies, we often have to overwrite our old habits. The good news is Derek Tangren from Adobe has put together this session aimed directly for practitioners like me.
