Adobe Summit 2020 is here. Over the past year I have been spending a lot of time inside Tags (formerly Adobe Launch). I have come to appreciate the tool that I once avoided. I remember thinking “another tag manager…?” not very enthusiastically when it first came out. Now I’m excited for new developments and learning from others on how to best use it. Below are my Top Tags sessions for Adobe Summit 2020:

L791 – Developing Tags Extensions

GUEST SPEAKERS

Jeff Chasin, Principal Product Manager, Adobe Joel Stachowicz, Activation Core Service Architect, Adobe

At the core of Tags are Extensions that enhance the capabilities of what is possible. This lab will help you get hands-on experience in creating those Extensions. Its geared towards technical people with experience in front-end development or implementation of digital tags, but I think Product Managers could potentially benefit by knowing what is possible. Here is why I recommend it:

  • You will gain experience while coding along an example extension
  • Learn to use events, conditions, actions, data elements, and extension configurations

This lab is on Thursday, April 02 | 03:00 PM – 04:30 PM

S625 – Speed Up the Client Side with Server-Side Launch

GUEST SPEAKERS

Jon Viray, Product Manager, Adobe

Faster server-side data collection enters mainstream with Launch! Personally, I think that would have been a better title for the session. Fast loading web pages is a key metric for Google’s SERP page ranking formula. Slow page loads are just bad customer experience. Faster page loading is something everyone in Digital should strive for. It’s also not wonder why reducing page load speed is part of the reason why some companies have job titles like “Performance Engineer” on the payroll. But server-side data collection is not easy. Of the well-known tag management solutions, only the 2 paid ones had this possibility previously. But now with Tags, player 3 has entered the game

I like this session because I think I will:

  • Learn how Tags, a free tool, will democratize server-side data collection
  • Get a better understanding of how server-side works together with client-side
  • Understand how to troubleshoot data collection in a new server-side world

This session is on Thursday, April 02 | 09:00 AM – 10:00 AM

L789 – How to Gain Maximum Value from Adobe Experience Platform Launch

GUEST SPEAKERS

Jeff Chasin, Principal Product Manager, Adobe Rudi Shumpert, Sr. Product Manager, Adobe

Whenever I see a lab combined with best practices, it means experience is informing the content of the session. Geared towards Launch beginners, I think this is a perfect opportunity to dive headfirst into Launch for those users that wish they could do more but don’t know how. Here is why I recommend it:

  • Learn what the pros do during a DTM to Launch migration
  • Hands-on learning about extensions already available in Launch
  • Lead by Jeff Chasin AND Rudi Shumpert, the legendary Launch duo

This lab is on Tuesday, March 31 | 04:30 PM – 06:00 PM

S623 – LAST CHANCE!! Moving from DTM to Adobe Experience Platform Launch

GUEST SPEAKERS

Ben Robison, Principal Product Manager, Adobe

If you didn’t know already, Adobe DTM is going completely off-line next year. By the year February 2021, you won’t be able to create new properties. This is why its important you migrate your DTM to Launch as soon as possible. I recommend this session if you haven’t migrated yet because you will:

  • Review the Adobe-recommend steps during migration process
  • Be prepared so potential ‘gotcha’ migration moments don’t surprise you
  • Learn from people who have done it before you

This session is on Monday, March 30 | 01:00 PM – 02:00 PM

L774 – Implement Adobe Target with Adobe Experience Platform Launch

GUEST SPEAKERS

Vadym Ustymenko, Senior Technology Consultant, Adobe Robert Calangiu, Senior Product Manager, Adobe

Given the power that Adobe Target lets you wield, implementing it may seem like a complicated task. I think this session will help attendees understand that with Launch implementing Target is not that difficult. There are also a lot of resources available people may not be aware of that help Target users improve how to leverage the tool. Here is why I recommend it:

  • It will demonstrate implementing Target is straightforward
  • Learn to troubleshoot how Target delivers content, so you can improve your experiments or personalization
  • Utilize Experience Platform Auditor scans to make sure your implementation is tip-top

This lab is on Wednesday, April 01 | 01:30 PM – 03:00 PM

L725 – Begin Your Analytics Journey: Implementation via Experience Platform Launch

GUEST SPEAKERS

Doug Moore, Technical Marketing Engineer, Experience Cloud, Adobe

If you are using an Adobe product without using Launch, or you aren’t happy with your analytics implementation even though you aren’t in charge of implementation, this session should be on your calendar. My hope is this is beginner enough to get anyone started on the UI, but also helps analysts “connect the dots” between their reports and the implementation. I recommend it because:

  • You will get familiar with the Launch UI and features
  • Get a sense of how to implement analytics
  • Get you confident to migrate from DTM to Launch if you have not already!

This session is on Tuesday, March 31 | 01:30 PM – 03:00 PM

S106 – Launching into the Stratosphere: Implementation Tips for Adobe Analytics

GUEST SPEAKERS

Rudi Shumpert, Sr. Product Manager, Adobe Justin Grover, Product Manager, Adobe

Tags has been out for a few years now. Looks like it’s time for the Adobe Product team to share a collection of pro tips & tricks for implementing Adobe Analytics they have gathered over time. Not only that, but we will also look at what the future holds for implementing Adobe Analytics via Launch. This is one I am definitely attending, and here are my reasons:

  • Pro secrets for implementing Adobe Analytics will be shared
  • How to implement the AEP SDK for mobile apps via Launch
  • We will get a sense for how to get prepared for the future of Launch

This session is on Monday, March 30 | 04:00 PM – 05:00 PM
