Adobe DTM to Tags (formerly Adobe Launch) Migration Testimonial Video

New England Journal of Medicine, and other NEJM Group programs, have a mission to transform health care practices around the world by providing clinicians, researchers, and health care leaders with the most rigorous and robust information available. We interviewed Caryn-Amy Rose, the Product Owner of Digital Analytics, about the DTM to Tags migration project Softcrylic did for their properties. See the full transcript below and the video above. For any questions, please feel free to reach out to info@softcrylic.com.

Q: How well did you feel Softcrylic supported you during the project?

A: Softcrylic was amazing through this process we realized early on from communications from Adobe that we were going to need to migrate from DTM to Tags. We have a lot of sites ranging from huge sites with hundreds of -no tens of thousands of pieces of content and a lot of custom work to you know, bunches of microsites that are sort of marketing or informational and do not have a lot of complexity. Softcrylic was really great about bringing us along in the process.

They had a presentation that was tailored to us in terms of what the process involves, different ways to go about it, different kind of levels of complexity from a thing they were calling lift and shift which was basically just move it over and then do QA to kind of do we want to use this as an opportunity to really delve into re-evaluating the metrics we have set up.

So that sort of orientation presentation was incredibly helpful to us.It helped us understand what the process was going to be like and make those decisions site by site. So, for us there were some really complex sites that we decided to take that opportunity to delve into the metrics we were collecting and think about whether they were still serving us and sort of revise that. So, the migration was also a little bit of a refresh project. Softcrylic really went hand in hand with us.

They worked with us on redesigning the variables, on planning the development work that was going to need to take place, on coordinating the release efforts with the site itself and with the updated rules going over to Tags. So that was really a hand in hand effort. And then there were some of the smaller sites where we just gave Softcrylic a whole list and they took over, did a lift and shift start to finish and basically just showed us the QA results when they were done and we never had to lift a finger on those which was really fantastic.

Softcrylic had provided this overview of what the process was going to be like and kind of a menu of different ways to do it and once we made that choice the microsites were handled end to end which was great and really easy and completely transparent to us. And we really partnered closely with Softcrylic on the custom work and especially on our flagship site for NEJM.

Q: Did any team member stand out during the project?

A: Ray just did some amazing work for us just in terms of being the front tester and looking at all the new metrics and once we had the new code on the site which was an easy step on our side Ray just totally took into hand looking at all the results, communicating back to us what he was seeing, we didn’t have to do very much work at all. He did a lot of work with the scripting and with the updates to make the migration work but also to update to the new requirements we had talked about making the variables we had in place even a little more precise and meaningful.

“That again, was a fantastic process in terms of having full knowledge that Ray was evaluating everything ahead of and getting to us any questions or clarifications.”

So that when it came to our QA we had a couple of questions back for him and that collaboration was really good but he had already done the lion’s share of the evaluation and fixing before we even got involved in the depths so it was just

“-even the most complicated project that we did in terms of wanting to update all of our variables while we were going was just a pleasure to work through.”

Q: Did the end results meet your standards?

A: The end results were really fantastic.

“Some of these microsites were the first time we ever handed over an analytics project end-to-end to an outside vendor and the results coming back were just impeccable, I was really impressed. Even having already worked with Softcrylic going forward with different projects the level of Softcrylic ushering this through start to finish was just fantastic and a really great load off our minds.”

Q: Overall, how do you feel like the project went?

A: The projects went incredibly smoothly we actually have a couple that we are finishing out. I think we did about 6 last year and we have a couple more to go this year.

“All of them have been very different, very different web products, very different profiles in terms of the analytics on them and they have just all been very easy and fun to work through since we had so much confidence in Softcrylic, it made it a great project.”
